Summer lane closures announced around Duke University
From June 29 to Sept. 4, all pedestrian traffic will be moved to the south side of Towerview Road. About 400 feet of sidewalk on the north side of the road from Union Drive to the edge of the construction area will be closed on July. The eastbound lane of Towerview will be closed from Union-Towerview intersection about 400 feet northwest on Towerview. Temporary traffic signals will be installed to help maintain traffic flow.

Erwin Rd. and Emergency Dr. to get traffic light
A new traffic light and pedestrian crosswalk are being installed at the intersection of Erwin Road and Emergency Drive to promote the safety of pedestrians.

Plans call for 15-501 Business Roadway Revision
Plans call for 15-501 business which runs through the Rockwood district to shrink from five lanes to three and to add bike lanes and roadside parking spaces.
Durham intersection at 54 and Church to Close
The N.C. Department of Transportation is set to permanently close the intersection of Church Street and N.C. 54 in Durham. Drivers will no longer be able to access the intersection as of June 8.

Pedestrian Improvements Coming to Erwin Road.
A traffic light and sidewalk will be installed at the intersection of Erwin and Randolph roads. The walkway will connect neighborhoods along Randolph to Forest View Elementary School.

Durham's East End Connector to be built
The NC state Department of Transportation will award a contract to build the East End Connector, an 8-mile small freeway that will connect interstate 85 with the Durham Freeway. The construction is estimated to cost $141 million and take 4.5 years with a completion slated for July 2019.
