The Powerade State Games of North Carolina, the largest
multi-sport, amateur athletic sporting event will be held in the Triangle, will
host events in Raleigh, Cary and Durham from June 4 - June 26, 2016. Over 12,000 athletes will participate in
athletics ranging from table tennis to wrestling. Durham will have several
venues that host events such as Duke University, Durham Parks and Recreation
locations and new this year, the American Tobacco Campus, which will host a one-time-only
“pop-up” disc golf course that will wind its way through campus, including the
Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

American Tobacco Campus Gets Bee Display
Bee Downtown and Burt's Bees have put up a observation beehive at Burt's Bee's office at the American Tobacco Campus in Downtown Durham. The structure is six feet tall and 2 feet wide with impact-resistant safety glass that holds 15,000 bees.

Diamond View III Construction Slated to Begin in April
Construction of Diamond View III, the newest building planned for development in the American Tobacco Campus area overlooking the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, is slated to begin in April 2012 with a completion targeted for mid-to-late 2013. The building will include 115,000 square feet of office space and 15,000 square feet of retail space.

Durham Nonprofits Win American Tobacco Christmas Tree Challenge
Durham-based nonprofits TROSA, The Scrap Exchange, the Durham Economic Resource Center, Trips for Kids, the Coalition to Unchain Dogs were among the winners of American Tobacco's second annual Christmas tree challenge. The winners were chosen from the 59 Triangle nonprofits that participated in the Christmas tree decorating contest. Prizes ranged from $1,000 to $2,500 and were judged by fans and special judges.

Wireless Generation to Open Office in Durham
The New York-based company Wireless Generation is opening a Durham office in a 12,600-square-foot space in the American Tobacco campus. The educational software provider plans to hire 60 workers locally for the new office.
