Durham's Parion inks deal that could exceed $1 billion

Durham drug developer Parion Sciences reached a licensing deal with Boston-based Vertex Pharmaceuticals, for a possible cystic fibrosis treatment. Licensing could bring the company upwards of $1 billion.

$15.6 Million Grants Will Study Parion's Work

Parion Sciences, a Durham company dedicated to the development of novel treatments for pulmonary and ocular diseases, announced that the National Institutes of Health has awarded up to $15.6 million over 5 years in grants for two universities to conduct research with mucolytic agents discovered by the company and to enable Investigational New Drug applications for Parion's molecules.

Small Business Administration Honors Two Durham Drug Companies

Durham companies Novan Therapeutics and Parion Sciences have both received a Tibbetts award from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
