Companies behind GMOs launch website
Agricultural biotechnology companies involved in the development of
genetically modified crops, also known as genetically modified organisms or
GMOs, including Durham companies Syngenta, Bayer CropScience, BASF
and Monsanto are launching a website, GMO Answers to answer the “toughest questions” about them.

World Food Prize shared by Syngenta founder
A pioneer in plant genetics engineering, the Durham Research Triangle Park-based
researcher Mary-Dell Chilton (along with two others) was named the 2013 World Food Prize Laureate, an award
for improving the quality, quantity or availability of food.

Metabolon Renews Accord with Syngenta
Durham biomarker research firm Metabolon has renewed its multi-year agreement with Swiss agrobiotech Syngenta. The deal means Metabolon will continue to provide Syngenta, which has a Research Triangle Park campus, access to its biochemical profiling technology for use in agriculture applications.
