Durham’s Art Institute opens student-run restaurant for lunch
The Art Institute has opened its student-operated restaurant, The District at 410, for lunch from noon-2 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, except on May 12 when it will be closed for a private party.The District is located in the lobby of the Fowler Building at 410 Blackwell St. Reservations are recommended; drop-in patrons will be seated as space is available.

Competition Dining to hold battle in Durham
Competition
Dining is a series that pits chefs against one another in "Iron
Chef-style" battles. The audience and a set of celebrity judges dine and
then vote on several rounds to determine the winner. This year’s competitions
will be held in Durham, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Wilmington, Raleigh and
Charlotte. The Durham competitions will be held at Bay 7 at American Tobacco
Campus April
18, 19 and 21.

Manning Fulton & Skinner opening new law office at American Tobacco
Raleigh-based Manning Fulton & Skinner is opening a new law office at Durham’s American Tobacco Campus located at 406 Blackwell St. across from the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The law firm specializes in mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate and health care law, among other areas.

Two new projects could reshape Durham skyline
Two Charlotte-based developers, CitiSculpt and Northwood Raven are now fleshing out their plans for two recently purchased sites near the American Tobacco District.The plans include buildings that would be anywhere from 12 to 18 stories and could create the largest urban district in Triangle.

New Durham startup program helps working professionals
Groundwork Labs, located in the American Tobacco District, will offer a new night time program specifically for working professionals starting in August 2015.
