Jordan High Teacher Named Educator of the Year

Jordan High School social studies teacher Brian McDonald has been named the 2013 Claes Nobel Educator of the Year by the National Society of High School Scholars, an international organization that celebrates educators who demonstrate outstanding leadership, scholarship and commitment to community.

New principal appointed to Creekside Elementary

Mangum Elementary School principal Cindy Daniels has been named the next principal of Creekside Elementary School, effective July 1. Daniels holds a Master of School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA.

Beyer Joins Grassroots Education Advocacy Group

Natalie Beyer, a member of the Durham Public Schools Board of Education, is now one of the volunteer leaders of a grassroots advocacy group called Public Schools First NC.
