Northgate Mall adds two kids' spots

Northgate Mall has added two new kids' spots; The Pampered Prince-ss,  a full-service hair salon specializing in children’s hair care and specialty birthday parties for children age 0 to 14 and a new kids' ride named Zoo Rides that features large-scale electric furry animals that kids can ride.

Music-based playspace coming together in Durham

Notasium, a music-based play space, is scheduled to open in Durham off of Chapel Hill Boulevard in July. Notasium, won full funding in a Kickstarter online fundraiser earlier this year and also has secured additional funding from local investors.

Scrap Exchange launches new preschool program

The Scrap Exchange in Durham has a new program for preschoolers, Preschool Artplay. The program runs monthly and is designed for kids ages 2 to 6 and their parents. The program is offered on June 24 and July 22 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the cost is $15 per participant.

Durham Nonprofits Win American Tobacco Christmas Tree Challenge

Durham-based nonprofits TROSA, The Scrap Exchange, the Durham Economic Resource Center, Trips for Kids, the Coalition to Unchain Dogs were among the winners of American Tobacco's second annual Christmas tree challenge. The winners were chosen from the 59 Triangle nonprofits that participated in the Christmas tree decorating contest. Prizes ranged from $1,000 to $2,500 and were judged by fans and special judges.
