Don Ladd has been promoted to chief deputy, Durham County Sheriff's Office's second-highest position. Previously a captain, Ladd has been with the Sheriff's Office for 25 years.

Mike Andrews was sworn in as Durham County's new sheriff on Monday, January 1st. Andrews is a 32-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office.

Retiring Sheriff Honored With State's Highest Civilian Honor
Retiring Durham County Sheriff Worth Hill was awarded the state's highest civilian honor, the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, by Gov. Beverly Perdue. Hill's retirement will be effective January 1, 2012; his service to Durham county was just three years short of five terms.

Chief Deputy Mike Andrews to Succeed Hill as Sheriff
Chief Deputy Mike Andrews has been named the successor to Sheriff Worth Hill who will retire at the start of 2012. Andrews is a three-decade veteran of the Durham Country Sheriff's Office; he was unanimously voted into the Sheriff role by the Durham County Commissioners.

Sgt. Jeremiah Davis Retires
Sgt. Jeremiah Davis, an investigator with the Durham County Sheriff's Office has retired after 25 years with the sheriff and 40 years in law enforcement.
