Homewood Suites Hotel Sold

Homewood Suites by Hilton Durham-Chapel Hill, a 96-room hotel located at 3600 Mt. Moriah Road, has been sold for an undisclosed amount to Huntersville-based Narsi Properties from PHG-AREP II Durham MT Moriah LLC.

AJ Capital Partners, a Chicago developer, plans to renovate a shuttered 150-room hotel at 600 Willard Street near downtown Durham and convert the 3.7-acre into a Graduate Hotel.

21C Museum Hotel Names Executive Chef

Josh Munchel was named executive chef at Counting House restaurant in the upcoming 21c Museum Hotel in downtown Durham. Josh Munchel comes to Durham from Cincinnati, where he helped Metropole, the restaurant in the chain’s hotel in that city, win a place on Bon Appétit magazine’s list of Best New Restaurants 2013.

Durham Marriott Completes $2M Renovation

The Courtyard by Mariott Durham Hotel has finished a $2 million renovation, updating the 123 guest rooms with new carpet, bedding and furniture.

Durham Hotel Acquired

A subsidiary of Summit Hospitality, led by President Doyle Parrish, has paid $7.25 million for the Four Points by Sheraton Durham hotel near The Streets at Southpoint mall in south Durham.
