Durham Priest Appointed to Episcopal Diocese Leadership

The Rev. Anne E. Hodges-Copple will be consecrated as bishop suffragan of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, a jurisdiction that includes the state’s two largest cities. The ceremony will be held Saturday at Duke Chapel.

Durham Presbyterian of Colonial Village to Host First Worship Service

Durham Presbyterian a new church located at 2504 N. Roxboro will offer its first worship service on Sunday, February 26 at 10:30AM. The church, formed from the merger of Northgate Presbyterian and St. John's Presbyterian, is a multi-generational worshiping community seeking to reflect the diversity of the city.

Beth El Synagogue to Install Rabbi Greyber

Rabbi Daniel Greyber will be formally installed as Beth El Synagogue's rabbi - he has served the congregation since July 2011. Conservative Judaism leader Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson, dean of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the American Jewish University, will be scholar-in-residence.

Watts Street Baptish Church Pastor to Retire

The Rev. Mel Williams, pastor of Watts Street Baptist Church for 23 and a half years, will retire in Spring 2012. Williams plans to continue his work in the community with End Poverty Durham.
