Richard Hays Named as New Dean of Duke Divinity School
Richard Hays, George Washington Ivey Professor of New Testament, has been selected as dean of the Duke Divinity School. Hays has served as the interim dean since former Dean Gregory Jones stepped down in August 2010. Hays first came to the Divinity School as a professor in 1991.

Willie Jennings, associate professor of theology and black church studies at Duke Divinity School, has been selected to receive the Award for Excellence in the Study of Religion from the American Academy of Religion for his book, The Christian Imagination: Theology and the Origins of Race (Yale University Press, 2010).
