Museum of Life and Science shifts to winter hours

The Museum of Life and Science has shifted to its winter hours through March. The museum is now open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m., Sunday. It will be closed on Mondays.

Museum of Life and Science Treehouse exhibit to open Sept.29

The Museum of Life and Science will open a new exhibit Hideaway Woods, that features a network of eight interconnected tree houses that reach up to 20 feet in the air at the highest point. The permanent exhibit will be free with general museum admission.

Museum of Life and Science to Host Global Cardboard Challenge

The Museum of Life and Science in Durham will be the region's only host site for the Global Cardboard Challenge Oct. 1 to Oct. 5. Guests will use cardboard, Makedo connectors and other building supplies to build additions on to the "Colossal Cardboard Imagination Machine."

Alpacas Coming to Durham Museum

The Museum of Life and Science in Durham, NC is expanding by welcoming baby alpacas, and their mothers.  They will be available for museum goers to see starting Saturday, October 20th which begins a week-long celebration of their arrival.

Sprout Cafe to Open at Museum of Life & Science in Early March

Sprout Cafe, Tom Meyer's latest restaurant, is slated to open at the Museum of Life and Science during the second week of March. The Cafe will feature Meyer's popular Chacarero, a "fresh garden sandwich," which features your choice of protein, toppings and homemade spread all placed in a warm, grilled flatbread made by Neomonde Bakery

Museum of Life and Science's 20-Year-Old Black Bear Dies

The Museum of Life and Science is mourning the loss of Ursula, the museum's oldest black bear. The 20-year-old bear came to the museum on October 30, 1991 as a 9-month-old cub.
