RDU begins a massive five year improvements project

RDU will begin a massive, five year project, starting with paving the Economy 3 lot . The 3,820-space lot will be resurfaced in three sections, starting with 1,561 spots this week. In January, the airport will begin the portion of the project aimed squarely at its garage complex, its Premier and Central lots. The projects include concrete repair, waterproofing additions, canopy maintenance, elevator and moving sidewalk replacements, signage improvements, and more. The total cost of the project will be around $25 million dollars.

Duke University unveiled the new name of their updated on-campus accommodations

Duke unveiled the new name of the updated on-campus accommodations, announcing the former R. David Thomas Center will reopen in January 2017 as the JB Duke Hotel.The space has been undergoing renovations since March 2015. Crews are making extensive upgrades to modernize the building, which will feature 198 guestrooms, including 11 unique suites, to be used by visitors to Duke and Durham. Duke’s Science Drive/Cameron Boulevard parking garage is also scheduled to be completed in January next year, and will accommodate 2,320 vehicles.

City of Durham Installs New Pay Stations

The city of Durham is installing new pay stations at the Centre, Chapel Hill, Church, and Corcoran Street parking decks to streamline payment and collection of parking fees on June 1.
