NC School of Science & Math recieves grant

Employees from the Monsanto site in Research Triangle Park selected NCSSM, to receive a $13,500 grant from the Monsanto Fund’s 2015 site grant initiative. Representatives from the organization and the fund celebrated the grant with a check presentation Sept. 24.

Sharon Chen, a junior at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, was recently honored during a ceremony at the White House for outstanding contributions to environmental education and stewardship

Cleantech device from NCSSM students wins national prize


A North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics team is among the four winners in a national business development competition for high school students. AirCOM won in the 2013 Spirit of Innovation Challenge’s cybertechnology and security category. The team developed an ozone-level measuring mobile electronic detection device that can be affixed to a car or carried by a person.
