Transloc launches app to connect ridesharing, public transit

Local transportation technology company Transloc has launched its Uber-integrated app, called Transloc Rider, which incorporates multiple modes of transportation in a user’s commute. The App integrates Uber ride sharing, public transit and walking to offer several options with both prices and travel times.

TransLoc partners with Uber

Durham startup TransLoc, who develops technology to connect people with public transportation, provides people real-time information on the location of buses and makes recommendations about the best routes to choose to get to a destination, has partnered with Uber to help public transportation users get to the best station and bus route. This new partnership would allow riders to ride with Uber to get to the locations providing a complete door to door transit experience.

Uber & Lyft drivers now approved to service RDU passengers

The Raleigh-Durham International Airport now allows Uber and Lyft drivers to drop off and pick up their fares in pre-arranged services zones of the commercial curb in front of both terminals. Individual drivers are no longer required to register individually with the Airport Authority and will instead, display a 7×7-inch company identification sticker, such as the Uber “U,” on the passenger side of the front windshield.

Uber warns of price surges over Halloween weekend

Uber has issued a statement acknowledging there will be price surges on Halloween in accordance with their policy. A price multiplier is applied and revealed at times of peak service in order to encourage more drivers to pick up fares.
