Durham Academy Lacrosse Stars and Athletic Director Receive Honors
Durham Academy seniors Ian Concannon and Spencer Hallyburton have been named U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-Americans in recognition of excellence on the lacrosse field and in the classroom. DA Athletic Director Steve Engebretsen has been named U.S. Lacrosse Man of the Year for the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association.

Durham Academy Student Wins National Achievement Scholarship
Durham Academy's Anica Green has won the National Achievement Scholarship. This scholarship is given to 800 black American high school seniors and the awards, which total more than $2 million, are funded by grants from 34 corporations and professional associations, as well as the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Durham Academy Reveals Renovated Gym
Durham Academy has unveiled its newly renovated gymnasium that includes air conditioning, a new floor, frosted glass windows, improved lighting, 300 additional seats, a trophy hallway, concession stand, public restrooms, a fitness center, locker rooms, offices and an improved training room.

Durham Academy Senior Named 2012 Presidential Scholar
Durham Academy senior Indira Puri has been named as one of North Carolina’s two 2012 U.S. Presidential Scholars. One female and one and male from each state is selected for the award, The award recognizes high school seniors - one male, one female from each state - for their accomplishments in academics or the arts. The awards are presented in Washington, D.C.
