UDI to Start Urban Farm

UDI Community Development Corp. plans to turn about six acres on Cornwallis Road into a year-round farm with 14 greenhouses, producing fruit, vegetables and fish.

R. Edward "Ed" Stewart, president of UDI Community Development Corporation, was honored with the 2011 Mechanics and Farmers Bank Founders Award. The annual award recognizes individuals or entities that embody M&F's "founding principles" based on hallmark values or attributes of the men who established the bank in 1907.
