RTI president appointed to United Way board

RTI International’s president and CEO E. Wayne Holden has been appointed to United Way of the Greater Triangle’s Board of Directors.

Director of Durham Symphony Orchestra Agrees to Work with Sister City

William Henry Curry, director of the Durham Symphony Orchestra, and Pavel Yakovlevich Gershtyn, director of the Kostroma City Symphony Orchestra, made an informal agreement to work together after Gershtyn told Curry about a musical exchange program in Kostroma, Russia.

Habitat for Humanity of Durham Names Development Director

Habitat for Humanity of Durham announced today that Sandy Sweitzer has been named director of development. Sweitzer brings more than 20 years of nonprofit experience, with 14 years of leadership in Durham.

Durham Nonprofits Win American Tobacco Christmas Tree Challenge

Durham-based nonprofits TROSA, The Scrap Exchange, the Durham Economic Resource Center, Trips for Kids, the Coalition to Unchain Dogs were among the winners of American Tobacco's second annual Christmas tree challenge. The winners were chosen from the 59 Triangle nonprofits that participated in the Christmas tree decorating contest. Prizes ranged from $1,000 to $2,500 and were judged by fans and special judges.
