Duke University has sold the Duke
Diet & Fitness Center on Trinity Avenue to the city, which has plans to
convert the property into a retrofit wetland area designed to filter harmful
levels of nitrogen and phosphorus flowing from about 485 acres of densely
developed property in and around downtown Durham before the runoff reaches
Falls Lake.
