DPS Names Two New Principals

Durham's school board named two new principals: Nathan Hester at Creekside Elementary School, and Sheldon Reynolds at the new Lakewood Montessori Middle School.

Dockery Named Associate Vice Chancellor

James Dockery was named associate vice chancellor for human resources at N.C. Central University.

Holiday openings at Northgate Mall

Jim's Famous Barbecue is opening in Northgate Mall today. The eatery will be in the former Greek Cuisine space in the food court. Greek Cuisine has expanded to a new space by Entrance 5.

Jackets' and More, a seasonal store, had decided to stay until February rather than ending the lease in December.

Rainbow, a new 7,000-square-foot apparel store, will be opening in March. Rainbow will be located across from Jimmy Jazz and will carry women's and children's apparel and shoes.
Basix will be moving in January to the former Pac Sun location next to The Children's Place.

HTC Opens Office in Downtown Durham

HTC, a Taiwanese smart-phone maker announced that it's opening an office in downtown Durham's American Tobacco Campus, called HTC Innovation Center and Corporate Strategy Office.

Durham Young Professionals Present Awards
