Melinda Gates is among seven people who will receive honorary degrees from Duke University this year. Other degree recipients include founder of PIMCO, Bill Gross, human-rights activist Marguerite “Maggy” Barankitse; immune-system scientist Dr. Max Cooper; David S. Ferriero, archivist of the United States; Henry Louis Gates Jr., professor of African-American history and literature at Harvard University; and choreographer Judith Jamison.
