The Boot welcomes new executive chef Jon May

Chef Jon May, who worked at The Chef and The Farmer in Kinston, is now the executive chef at The Boot, an Italian-American restaurant with a focus less on American and more on Italian. May is using a lot of local artisan products with a more seasonal menu. Despite the changes, May said the prices will stay the same. The Boot is located at 2501 University Dr., Durham; Hours: 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 5-9 p.m. Sunday-Saturday.
