Duke Researchers Identify Gene Mutations Associated with Nearsightedness

Mutations in a gene that helps regulate copper and oxygen levels in eye tissue are associated with a severe form of nearsightedness, according to a Duke Medicine study published in the American Journal of Human Genetics on May 2, 2013.
