A subsidiary of Faison Enterprises of Charlotte is tearing down the 1950s-era Washburn Court apartments on 300 Swift Avenue in Durham to make way for a $40 million apartment community opening in 2014. Faison development director Kris Fetter says demolition of the nine, white-brick buildings has begun and that the new apartments will feature a four-story, wood-framed building with 202 apartment units with structured parking underneath.

New Apartments Planned for Swift Ave.
