Durham World War II veterans George Poe, Clarence Tippett, Harold Bizzell, Homer Riley and Ralph Denson were recognized for their military service by the Friendly City Civitan Club. Many
of the veterans in the Civitan club room had known each other in Durham even before World War II nearly
70 years ago.
