World Food Prize shared by Syngenta founder

 A pioneer in plant genetics engineering, the Durham Research Triangle Park-based researcher Mary-Dell Chilton (along with two others) was named the 2013 World Food Prize Laureate, an award for improving the quality, quantity or availability of food.
