Durham Bulls Athletic Park to Add Gigantic Screens to Ballpark

The Durham Bulls Athletic park will add three displays to the ballpark experience. One will be 25.4 feet high and 63 feet long. The mechanical scoreboard will be rebuilt and installed in a location closer to the center field berm, as seen above.The second will be an LED strip running the length of the remaining outfield wall, from center to right field. It will be 327.6 feet long and 6.5 feet high. The third piece will be 3.2 feet high and run 119.8 feet. It will be installed above the new club level within the main seating bowl.

Triangle newcomer Level Homes has plans to build in three Durham County communities. The builder has bought 214 homesites in the Brightleaf at the Park community, 144 homesites within the Cardinal Oaks community and 18 homesites at Green Gardens. Sales at Green Gardens have already started, with homes priced from the $165,000s. Level Homes’ units at Brightleaf will be priced from the $210,000s. Homes at Cardinal Oaks will be priced from the $150,000s.

Duke Wins $15 Million Grant Renewal to Study Effects of Nanomaterials

Duke's Pratt School of Engineering has won a $15-million grant renewal from the National Science Foundation and the US Environmental Protection Agency to continue learning more about where nanoparticles accumulate, how they interact with other chemicals and how they affect the environment.
